LD 200N - Compact high-energy Load Dump generator

Load Dump pulses simulate a sudden battery disconnection (e.g. by corrosion) from the alternator. Cause the lost of the battery load the alternator generates an overvoltage impulse. Such Load Dump pulses are high energy pulses with a high potential of destruction. 


The LD 200N simulates these high energy pulses having a duration time in the range of hundreds of milliseconds. 


The LD 200N generates the Load Dump pulses as per ISO 7637, ISO 16750-2, SAE J1113, SAE J1455, JASO and many more manufacturer specification, e.g. Ford, Chrysler, Renault, PSA, NISSAN etc. By means of a built-in clipping circuit the LD 200N also generates clipped load dump pulses as per international standards as well as manufacturer requirements.

 Benefits


The LD 200N includes everything necessary to conduct fully compliant tests. It generates the required high-energy pulses as required by ISO 7637 and many other international and car manufacturer requirements discharging an energy storage capacitor into a passive pulseforming network. The decay of the waveform follows a double-exponential function as specified in Annex E of ISO 7637-2:2004.


The LD 200N is a standalone tester including a 60V/30A DC coupling/decoupling network but still can easily be integrated into a complete test set-up.


Pre-programmed Standard Test routines allow highest user convenience. The FreeStyle mode allows the operator to easily generate individual Load Dump pulses setting time parameters and peak voltage as required.


The built-in CLD module enables the LD 200N to generate clipped load dump pulses as per various test requirements by setting time parameters and clipping levels as needed.



 Operation


Easy to operate


Front panel menu and function keys enable the user to program his test routines quickly and accurately. 


The cursor allows fast control of all test parameters of the programmed routine, thus test procedures are simplified and confidence is generated that every step is carried out correctly.



 Software


iso.control software for control and documentation


Outstanding user convenience, clearly structured windows and operation features and the EM TEST standards library along with the flexibility to generate user specific test sequences very easily are the main features of iso.control software. 


The software is automatically configured according to the connected EM TEST generators. iso.control software covers international/national standards and most of the manufacturer standards and is continuously updated. Extensive reporting capabilities help the user to create test reports that meet international requirements.


iso.control is supported by Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Remote control is achieved either via USB/RS232 or GPIB. iso.control supports a wide range of GPIB cards of National Instruments.

A set of highly-accurate load resistors is unified in a single box for the verification of micropulses and Load Dump pulses under defined loaded condition as specified in ISO 7637-2 and a wide range of manufacturer specifications.
