Simulator for conducted, common-mode disturbance
CWS 500N4 - Testing for immunity to conducted, common-mode disturbances
The CWS 500N4 is the state-of-the-art solution in a compact single-box design to test for immunity to conducted, common mode disturbances in the frequency range 0Hz (DC) to 165kHz. Such test requirements are specified in IEC 61000-4-16 and cover continuous mode testing as well as short term testing with DC, 16 2/3Hz, 50Hz and 60Hz with 4 test levels each plus a sweep mode from 10Hz to 165kHz.
Additionally, the CWS 500N4 can be used for testing electricity metering equipment as per prTR 50579 and Draft standard IEC 61000-4-19, Annex C.

Benefits
Conducted common mode testing out of one single box - Easy, fast and reliable
The CWS 500N4 consists of all the necessary parts to perform full-compliant tests as per IEC 61000-4-16 including the signal generator, the LF amplifier, a DC rectifier module, a semiconductor power switch and the rms measurement of voltage and current.
The CWS 500N4 is able to generate all continuous mode test levels up to 30V (DC, 16 2/3Hz, 50Hz and 60Hz) and the frequency sweep 15Hz to 150kHz without any additional external voltage source.
In order to perform the short-term mode tests up to 300V (DC, 50Hz or 60Hz, depending on the mains line frequency) the optional MV 2606N2.2 is required.
If tests need to be done with 16 2/3Hz or at frequencies other than the mains line frequency the optional programmable AC voltage source ACS 500N2.2 is needed.
For remote control via icd.control software both a GPIB and USB interface are available. icd.control software supports the various test routines, can automatically generate a test report including all test data and offers multiple interruption functions.
Manually operated the user is offered the Quick Start test routine for the easy and efficient testing of specific test points without software.
Operation
Easy to operate
Front panel menu and function keys enable the user to program his test routines quickly and accurately. The cursor allows fast control of all test parameters of the programmed routine, thus test procedures are simplified and confidence is generated that every step is carried out correctly.
Software
icd.control - The software that makes your CWS 500N4 a complete LF test system
icd.control supports testing of immunity to conducted, common mode disturbances from 0Hz to 150kHz as per IEC 61000-4-16. The standards library makes testing of the various test levels specified for the different test modes easy, efficent and reliable. The test report includes all settings and test results.
Other Models
Continuous wave simulation from DC to 1GHz
Continuous wave simulation over 9 decades! The CWS 500N family not only covers the frequency range mostly required for industrial test applications based on IEC 61000-4-6 but EM TEST also offers dedicated solutions for the low frequency range as well as for BCI (Bulk Current Injection), TEM cell or Stripline applications in the automotive, aerospace and military area.
The CWS 500N4 covers the requirements as per IEC 61000-4-16 for low frequency test applications required for testing electrical and electronic equipment with the application of common mode disturbances to power supply, control, signal and communication ports.
